Code Of Ethical Conduct
At Platypus Plan Management (“the Company”), we strive for the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and conduct in all our interactions with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders. We are dedicated to full compliance with all legal obligations imposed by statutes and other applicable laws. Our Ethical Code of Conduct aligns with the NDIS Code of Conduct, ensuring our commitment to excellence.
This Code sets forth the behavioural expectations for all employees. Failure to meet these standards may result in appropriate disciplinary measures. Instances of severe misconduct may lead to immediate termination. Moreover, if a violation of this policy involves a breach of the law, the relevant government authorities or law enforcement agencies may be notified accordingly.
By adhering to this Code of Ethical Conduct, Platypus Plan Management demonstrates its support for the National Standards for Disability Services as a registered provider. We remain dedicated to best practices in all aspects of service delivery, empowering individuals with disabilities and upholding their rights in collaboration with our valued workforce.
Code Of Conduct
Employees are expected to adhere to the following standards of conduct:
- Compliance: Adherence to all Company and workplace policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and contracts.
- Legal Compliance: Adherence to all relevant laws.
- Instruction: Compliance with all reasonable and lawful instructions given by or on behalf of the Company.
- Commitment: Devotion of full time, attention, and skill during regular working hours and as required to fulfill job duties.
- Honesty and Fairness: Maintaining honesty, fairness, courtesy, and respect in all interactions with customers, clients, colleagues, Company management, and the general public.
- Loyalty and Diligence: Acting faithfully, diligently, and in the best interests of the Company at all times.
- Safety: Working in a safe and compliant manner, observing all workplace health and safety regulations and responsibilities.
- Non-Discrimination and Harassment: Refraining from any discriminatory, bullying, or harassing behaviour towards customers, clients, colleagues, Company management, or the general public.
- Public Statements: Abstaining from making public statements or comments about the Company on social media or any other public platform. Employees should not post images that identify them as Company employees unless expressly permitted or authorized by the Company.
- External Benefits: Not accepting any financial or other benefits from entities other than the Company, unless in accordance with other workplace policies or with explicit disclosure and permission from the Company.
- Outside Employment: Not engaging in any employment or service provision to other individuals or entities without prior written consent from the Company. Such approval may be revoked if it hinders the employee’s ability to fulfill their duties at Platypus Plan Management.
- Employment with Suppliers/Competitors: Not engaging in any employment or service provision for a supplier or competitor of the Company without prior written consent from the Company. Such approval may be revoked if it hinders the employee’s ability to fulfill their duties at Platypus Plan Management.
- Client Relations: While employed at Platypus Plan Management, staff are prohibited from working, in a paid or unpaid capacity, for any client of Platypus Plan Management or providing services to clients through another organization.
- Personal Relationships: Staff must refrain from engaging in personal relationships with clients of Platypus Plan Management and are prohibited from sharing personal contact details.
- Conflict of Interest: Immediate disclosure of any potential, perceived, or actual conflicts of interest that may affect the performance of the employee’s obligations to the Company. Employees must comply with the Company’s directives to resolve or mitigate such conflicts.
- Protection of Company Property and Reputation: Refraining from any conduct, during or outside of work hours, that may cause damage or potential damage to the Company’s property or reputation.
- Prohibited Substances: Refraining from using prohibited drugs or alcohol and not reporting to work while under their influence.
